My Ford racing experience started in 1996. I would attend the Fun Ford Weekend (FFW) races when it would come to bracket race at my local track. From there I wanted something a little more competitive. That is when I started to race heads up in the Street Outlaw class in FFW in my 1986 Mustang. In 1998 I won my first race that I attended in Norwalk, Ohio and became the first 8-second nitrous car in the history of FFW. As Street Outlaw grew beyond my budget I had to look for a different class. In 2001 the National Mustang Racers Association (NMRA) created a new class called Real Street. I looked over the rules and knew I had found a new home. I raced my daily driver, a 1992 Mustang, in Real Street during the 2001 season. Bruce Hemminger
